They provide the amazing solutions to schools and have made a positive difference to tens of thousands of children, by supporting English departments in their efforts to help pupils achieve excellent reading grades.  Genuine passion, that stems from their incredibly focused Managing Director and leadership team, is what drives this business, and their growth and success has been remarkable. 

 

As such, we have been tasked with helping them to recruit a fantastic Sales Manager, to drive, measure and manage the performance of the sales team, consisting of nine people.

  • Excellent commission, based on the achievements of team targets, that will see you earn circa £75,000 in your first year

The Role

 

Your job is to lead, manage and inspire sales performance, and ultimately to get the best possible performance from the sales team, ensuring that targets are delivered.

 

You will achieve a sales team target by ensuring: 

 

  • You create a simple, but robust sales plan for the team
  • Your team focus their time in the right areas, and prioritise the tasks that deliver their sales objective
  • That there is no forecasting of any opportunity that is not properly qualified
  • You understand what drives each individual and what their aspirations and life goals are
  • You performance manage your team using weekly 1-2-1 meetings that coach, support and help your colleagues
  • You manage the team’s activity levels and ensure they are sufficient to deliver the opportunity pipeline required
  • You assess and address the team’s strengths and weaknesses
  • You establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in the leadership team
  • You developing new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes when opportunities present themselves

 

What are we are looking for in you?

 

You must evidence the ability to manage and lead a team who have achieved or exceeded set sales performance targets. You need to be skilled in data analysis using customer relationship management (CRM) software as this position involves working with a lot of data and prospects. We want to see:

 

  • The ability to communicate, inspire and motivate
  • An excellent understanding of the importance of Emotional Intelligence
  • A proven ability to drive and police the sales process from start to close
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and good people management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Drive, ambition, purpose and a strong moral compass
  • The ability to prioritise the tasks and functions that lead directly to delivering the team target

 

Our most important requirement is that you are the sort of person who rolls up their sleeves and gets stuck in with a smile.  Somebody who gets things done and who is unafraid to put in the hard yards needed to help people achieve targets.
