Sales Manager - York

Salary: £25,000 - plus uncapped commission based on team performance £40k OTE

Our client supplies multimarque new cars, vans and specialist vehicles through their respected and long established brokerage based in North Yorkshire. This is an organisation with a can-do attitude, incredible drive and infectious enthusiasm.

They have a new sales division with a small sales team who require a sales leader to support their growth ambitions in 2020.

We are very close to this client and support them with training and development in addition to their recruitment needs. As such, if you were successful, we will be able to give you a unique insight into the dynamics of the team you would manage in order to help you get off to the best possible start.


  • A salary £25,000

  • Uncapped commission circa £40k

  • Company car provided

The Role

  • To measure, manage and drive sales performance

  • To ensure sales processes are followed and in keeping with FCA rules

  • To ensure the sales people are using the CRM system to help them follow process

  • To ensure in-bound sales leads are effectively managed through to sale

  • To achieve volume and profit targets

  • Providing accurate forecasting and reporting to the Sales Director

  • To get the best out of people through engagement and great communication

  • To coach and support salespeople to help them win more business and improve performance

  • To carry out 1-2-1 performance reviews and conduct team sales meetings

  • To lead from the front

You will be a people person at heart, who understands the importance of managing process and disciplines. Ideally you will have experience as a dealership Business Manager or have had a senior role in Vehicle Leasing. Somebody who stacks deals, supports salespeople with coaching and closing and manages performance.
You may be somebody frustrated by a dealership environment or culture, or by the limitations on what the team has available to sell. As a brokerage your sales team can sell anything with wheels!
