Group Procurement Manager - North East
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 basic + car allowance

Based in the North East they have an opportunity for a Group Procurement Manager to join their organisation to provide strategic leadership to their Procurement, Supply Chain and Commercial services.
This role offers the opportunity to liaise with many services including, food, fleet, waste, equipment and much more for the group varying from a bespoke item that needs specially made to vast quantity on a regular basis.

As the Group Procurement Manager, you will be required to be involved in all areas of the business across the UK so occasional travel may be required.
Develop and maintain the purchasing strategy for all areas of the business, this includes managing company fleet vehicles, waste deals to dispose of hazardous and other generic waste, food deliveries for all of the branches and divisions, equipment for all areas of the business and travel for employees plus much more.
Forecast demand across the divisions to ensure they are fully stocked at all times.
Control purchase orders to ensure costings are controlled effectively across the group.
Manage existing suppliers in a positive way, complete company audits against agreed SLA’s on a regular basis. Regularly compare goods to alternate suppliers to always get the most cost effective option.
Negotiate with new suppliers on discounts due to levels of volume being processed and complete all relevant tender applications where necessary.
Produce regular reports and statistics on spending and savings and hold regular team meetings to assess the spend.
Manage a team of 12 effectively to make sure you always get the best from them. Complete basic HR proceedings with the team where required
The role of Group Procurement Manager is a very senior role in the company with an annual spend of over 25 million pounds. We would therefore look for the following:
A background working within an organisation with a diverse range of spends
Previous responsibility for spends over 10 million pounds per annum
Ability to work at a fast pace and multitask throughout the day
A good commercial understanding of companies available and products provided
Excellent negotiation skills for new and existing suppliers
Good rapport building with suppliers to attain best prices
Excellent computer skills and a knowledge of procurement software
Team management and motivation with ability to oversee a large team
Flexibility to travel if required for the role
This role is a senior role and our client are looking for a purchasing qualification at a high level.
